Mercedes joined CCTV in 2019 and served as a Member Representative on the CCTV Board in 2020. She has produced work to raise awareness about Dyslexia and is interested in collaborating to produce work related to equity, justice, and anti-racism in our schools and the city. Mercedes currently serves as the Impact Evaluation Advisor for the Cambridge Agenda for Children OST Team. She has led youth program planning, staff training, program outcomes evaluation and networking initiatives. Mercedes believes in the importance of engaging with community members to continuously improve programs to achieve positive youth outcomes. She has served in a variety of roles here, including: Operations Manager at the MIT Community Innovation Lab; Division Head for DHSP Youth Programs; and Deputy Director of Harvard University’s Phillips Brooks House Association. Mercedes lives in Cambridge with her partner and 13 year old son, and is actively involved in the Cambridge Families of Color Coalition and the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee.
