CRUCIAL & RELEVANT NATURE Of SALVATION
CRUCIAL & RELEVANT NATURE Of SALVATION
The times we live in are very uncertain and turbulent in world history. There is a global financial melt down; we do not know what Middle East holds in terms of peace- the whole place is in turmoil; Euro Zone countries are gripped with fear over her economic future; America battles with all kinds of problems, including unemployment and many are living in fear, wondering what is next. African nations are constantly rattled by wars and poverty, and Asian countries have their own nagging problems.
The underlying cause of these problems is abandonment of God, His principles, and laws. If we restore Truth & conscience back in our politics; Truth & conscience back in our Churches and temples; Truth & conscience back in our businesses & corporations; Truth & sincerity back in our homes and relationships, we shall see a great spiritual revival that will restore our former glory- be it materially, economically, politically or spiritually.
The only way for God to restore peace to our world, or economic or spiritual blessing is to come back to salvation which He gave to mankind through His death on the cross. That enables humans to consult their conscience before they act. It also enables humans to hate sin and wickedness, and mindful of how they treat other people and nations.
Salvation remains the greatest gift God gave to mankind. The riches of God's grace are hidden in salvation: peace, joy, love, eternal life, destruction of death & Satan, etc. These eternal values can never be compared to any material attainment, and nothing in the ingenuity of man can guarantee peace on earth, except in salvation provided by Jesus Christ. “My peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth you.” John 14:17. God reveals His deep love for humanity in salvation.
God pleads with humanity to come back to Him and repent of their sin, no matter how profound they stumbled, failed or how hopeless they feel about their sin, God is willing to forgive. This is God's unique nature. There is no other god or human being who can forgive sin or moral deviation except God. God cleans the sinner like he or she has never sinned before. When God forgives the sinner, He gives the Holy Spirit to guide the new believer. The Holy Spirit gives power to the new believer to overcome sin or wickedness in their lives.
A song writer says:
“The vilest offender
Who truly believe
A pardon receives”
That is how God looks at the sinner.
You ask, what does salvation mean, or to know Jesus as your personal savior, or to be born again?
Lawyers, judges, intellectuals, doctors, teachers, ordinary people have asked this question and will continue to ask this until the end of the world. Why is this question pertinent, critical and vital in life? This is because nothing material can satisfy the human soul. St Augustine said: "God has made us unto Himself, and our hearts are restless until they rest on God." God created humans for His glory.
Human beings are never satisfied until they learn to obey and listen to the will of God in their lives. If they continue to reject His plea for repentance, then at the end of life, they forfeit eternal life.
• Nicodemus was a powerful Jewish leader who desperately wanted to live the principles Jesus was teaching, but couldn’t. He lacked the power to keep them. Jesus tells him: “You must be born again- born of water and the Holy Spirit.” This powerful ruler did not understand what Jesus was telling him. “How can I enter into my mother's womb and be born again?” Jesus meant that he needed to have a spiritual rebirth to enable him to keep the principles Jesus was expounding. He needed to believe what God says in His Word, and have the Holy Spirit before he could live the Christian life Jesus was teaching.
• A Lawyer also comes to Jesus too. He wanted to inherit eternal life. Jesus asks him what is written in the law? The lawyer retorts: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all your mind, and with all your soul; and your neighbor as your self.” Jesus tells him to go and live that. But he could not, although he was a lawyer versed in the law. In order to justify himself, he asks Jesus who was his neighbor. Jesus tells him the story of the “Good Samaritan,” and instructs him to go and do likewise. Jesus knew he did not keep the law. No man can keep the laws of God. Humans lack the power to keep God's laws because of our sin nature.
The Scriptures says: “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God:”: black, white, red, yellow or pink. When Adam sinned at the Garden of Eden, sin entered into the world and tainted the human race. The Scriptures says "All our righteousness is like filthy rags.” “By the deeds of the law shall no man be justified in his sight; for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:20. That is why Jesus went to the cross to die for humanity. What He did was to substitute our weakness on the cross, and exchange it with His righteousness. We became righteous when He died for us on the cross. But we must appropriate this by faith because someone paid for it. That is why the Scripture says: "By grace are we saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works let any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8&9 Titus 3:5: says: “Not by works of righteousness which we have dine, but according to His mercy he saved us.” Salvation is pure gift from God to mankind.
So we conclude:
No man or woman can keep the laws of God because:
1. Man’s sinful nature which originated from Adam tainted the whole human race.
2. Romans 3:10 “There is no one good.” “Therefore by deeds of the law there shall no flesh be
justified in his sight; for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
3. The Scripture says “The heart of man is sinful and desperately wicked. Jeremiah. 17:9
4. Mathew 15:19&20. “Out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murder, adultery, fornication, theft,
false witness. blasphemies. These things are the things that defileth a man."
Steps to knowing Jesus as savior or born again spiritually.
1 Step 1: Accept you are a sinner. You must believe the word of God that says you are a sinner. The Scripture says: “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” “The wages of sin is death.” Romans 3:23; 6:23. Many scholars, philosophers, higher critics, politicians, historians, atheists, etc., scorn the idea of sin; God and the gospels as fabrications and lies. Our societies and cultures are becoming very smart and sophisticated; have lost the sense of shame and guilt, let alone having a conscience. But the one who feels the need to know the Lord as savior, or desires to be born again, or be a disciple of Jesus Christ and enter into the kingdom of God; or whose spiritual need overpowers his or her pride, that person must humble themselves and believe he or she is a sinner before they can have relationship with Jesus Christ.
2 Step 11: Confess your sin. The burden of sin is aggressive. There is something powerful about confession of sin. It gives the sinner a big relief. Many people are walking the streets of America and the world with heavy burden of sin which sickens and crumbles them: many who murdered, rapists, stole, abuser of children, idolaters, adulterers, diabolic killers, hate, unforgiving spirit, anger, etc. Daily they cannot sleep and no doctor can cure this kind of sickness. Only Jesus can clean the heart and forgive the sinner after confession. When Jesus forgives, it is like you have never sinned before.
3 Step 111: Believe Jesus died for your sin: Titus 3:5. Ephesians 2:8&9 tells us salvation is God’s grace and mercy to mankind. "By grace are we saved, not of ourselves, not of works lest any man should boast." Believe Jesus went to the cross and died for your sins to exchange it with His righteous life. You mast accept this by faith. Human righteousness is tainted by sin. God made salvation very simple so all humans can comprehend His plan of salvation, but with our intellectual mind, we argue and reject His greatest gift to mankind. Just believe He died for you on the cross, and His blood wipes your sins away.
4 Step 1V: Confess what you believe with your mouth. “If thou shalt confess with your mouth the lord Jesus, that God raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. With the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation, Romans.” 10:9&10.
5 Step V: You are baptized: that means identification rights with Jesus Christ. Water symbolizes the word of God. Baptism is not salvation or being born again. It is done after repentance.
6 Step V1: You receive the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit, you don’t belong to Christ. “Now if any man have not the spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” Romans 8:9. Only the Holy Spirit can enable the new believer to live a holy life that Jesus demands.
7 Step V11: You receive a new power. John 1:12. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." The Holy Spirit gives this new power to the new believer to begin a different life style that pleases God.
Someday, it will not matter who you are, or your riches, opulence, intellectual acumen, your political schemes and power, fame, but what you did with salvation called born again or knowing the Lord as savior. “The Scripture says: "And it is appointed unto men once to die, after this the judgement.” Hebrews 9:27. God will judge the deeds of men someday. He is recording them, but you still have time to repent. You may not have that time tomorrow. Don’t allow your sin to prevent you from knowing the Lord or going to heaven. He is willing to forgive your sin, no matter what they are. He will forgive and heal you..

Come to Jesus, come to Jesus
Come to Jesus right now.
He will save you
