Peace Be Unto You,

Dear Cambridge, the Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA) held a meeting on September, 13,2021 as part of it's Moving to Work/ Cambridge Housing Authority Annual Plan (MTW/ CHA Annual Plan). The plan must be submitted and filed with the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) annually. There was a Proposed Rent Simplification Plan up for discussion, public comment, and up for a final vote on by the CHA Board of Commissioners (BOC). The Rent Simplification Plan calls for a rent increase, deduction of medical services/benefits for seniors and disable, Section 8 residents of the Cambridge Housing Authority Jurisdiction. What seems traject to me about this event is the fact that members from Cambridge City Hall (City Council, Housing/ Human Rights Committees,Etc.) were not present to represent and protect the rights of the poor, senior and disable, residents of the CHA. A noticeable amount of citizens came forth with testimonies to keep things as they are, no changes in the way things are currently being done. The Rent Simplification Plan is reactionary and obsolete. It was installed by Greg Russ, a former CEO at the CHA that move on to Minneapolis Housing Authority, and now the New York City Housing Authority. Greg Russ when he was CEO at the CHA had a rent simplification plan approved by the BOC for public housing residents. Now the current BOC at CHA want to vote the same rent simplification plan in for senior and disable Section 8 residents. The Greg Russ era is over at CHA, implementing his rent simplification plan is like riding forth in the desert on a dead horse. It was more proactive and postmodern, to leave things as they are. But no the BOC voted this obsolete plan in 4 to 1, how tragic. Their putting down pure tyranny and sadism, now at CHA. I hope HUD see through this violation of senior and disable, low income renters in the Cambridge Housing Authority's local jurisdiction, and stops the CHA/ BOC from becoming a bastion of tyranny and thievery, of the poor seniors and disable residents.

Yours in Peace
