The Impact of Trauma on Learning Institute

This remote residency is kicking off Friday, Oct 9 and will provide an understanding of the impact of trauma on student learning.

Presented by the Lesley Institute for Trauma Sensitivity (LIFTS) and the Center for Inclusive and Special education, this remote residency will explore how to develop safe, supportive, and trauma-sensitive environments that make it possible for all students to learn. Highlighting the importance of connections, the residency explores that providing equitable opportunities for success requires individual supports and community-wide understanding.

The residency kicks off with a keynote presentation by Dr. Nicole Christian Brathwaite on Friday, October 9 with online coursework, including synchronous class sessions, lasting through December 11. The goal is to provide an understanding of the impact of trauma on student learning that will inform decision-making in schools and classrooms.
