Monica Cannon-Grant, a Black woman and mother, founded Violence in Boston, Inc., has organized marches in Boston that have drawn tens of thousands of peaceful protesters, and has called for a fundamental shift of power to Black women.

Zeina Marchant is an activist committed to fighting against systemic racism, a Violence in Boston board member, and a Winchester School Committee member.
