Blue Bike is helping Cambridge to get exercise

Bicycling in Cambridge used to be unpopular. Then came bicycling via the now popular Blue Bike program. The yearly price is $99. Blue Bikes can be useful even if you own your own bike Blue Bikes is a convenient way to get around town. Blue Bikes have expanded from last year. In Cambridge there are more than sixty stations. Originally known as Hubway the transition now became known as Blue Bikes. Expansions are not only in Cambridge but also in greater Boston. There are what is called Income- eligible memberships. Individuals sixteen and over who qualify for public assistance programs or if they meet income guidelines. If one is eligible for a discount there are two different options. The first is a discounted fifty dollar yearly memberships or two five dollar monthly memberships which include one hour rides. If you believe you meet the income requirement for a discounted Blue Bikes membership and you would like to apply; you may call 617 349-4600 to schedule an appointment for enrollment. Also you can contact the City of Cambridge by EMAIL: bluebikes @Cambridgema.gov. Also there are corporate memberships if your organization is a Blue Bike corporate partner. Many companies and universities and other institutions have become enrolled in a program known as the Corporate membership program. This allows for subsidized some and maybe all of the memberships costs for the employees or students.
