how CCTV has helped my recovery

After hearing that the FCC wants to cut down sharply, if not, completely, local cable television, I decided to tell about how much life had changed. From childhood to my senior year in high school I wanted to be a writer and /or sports broadcaster I was accepted at Emerson Colege, but after one semester, I had to drop out due to a about with depression. Upon recovering I thought to put my goal of working in the sports media market off until I had the finances and support to achieve it . .I got caught up in the business world for many years as a manager making a decent wage. The idea of working in journalism and broadcasting seemed so very far away.
After a time the depression reared its ugly head again. Only this time it was stronger and for many years longer than in my earlier years. I went to Mass Rehab where I was able to achieve an associates degree. When I went to my counselor telling her that I wanted to become a sports writer or broadcaster, she told me that that career choice wouldn't work for me because it was too competitive. So I sort of was betwixt and between about what to do. I went back to therapy where two things were said to me that rekindled my passion for a media career. "wouldn't it be great to have a job that you loved and get paid for it" was something important my therapist said. So while I was trying to collect my thoughts and mentally reinstate my goals, another therapist encouraged me to take a leap of faith. So I did. I went to CCTV, the local cable station. Though disabled due to the reoccurring depression, I passionately began following my dream. I am on my third year of my TV show called Richard's Variety Show and these 27 minutes each Wednesday keep me going. I also write two stories a month which quenches my thirst for journalism. I Also have taking writing podcasting, camera, acting and studio classes.
CCTV and all that they have to offer have helped me resume my original plans for a career in my chosen field. I Write this hoping it lands on the desk of some mogul at FCC, who has a heart for those who need cable televisions stations, so they may also have a chance to live their dreams as do those who are born into money and those who receive scholarships
