Tarantella Dance Comes to Cambridge

Carmen Marsico brings the tradition of Italian dance to Cambridge.

On this episode of Cambridge Culture, "The Tarantella Comes to Cambridge", we welcome a visit from Carmen Marsico of the music group Newpoli. Carmen is teaching traditional southern Italian folk dances at the Dante Alighieri Society of Massachusetts in Cambridge. Through this interview, we learn about the history and traditions of the Tarantella, the dance of the spiders. Watch Carmen and her dancers as they demonstrate two styles of Tarantella dancing, the Pizzica and the Tammorriata.
