Cambridge Falcons win another game

On a brisk winter night I took in a High School basketball game at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School pitting the Weston High School Basketball team against the Falcons of Cambridge. Before the varsity tilt there was a junior varsity game between these two schools. Cambridge won by a landslide. I I mention the JV game because I wanted to pay tribute to number five from the Cambridge squad. This young man was so talented despite having a disability.
On we go to the main event of the evening. Cambridge vs. Weston. The first quarter began and Weston quickly scored on a three point shot by Williams. However the Falcons answered back and took the lead which they would never lose again. The first quarter ( 8 MINUTES PER QUARTER IN HIGH SCHOOL BALL) ended with Cambridge clinging to an 18-13 score. Haran West of the Falcons led all scorers with two three pointers and a field goal for a total of 8 points.. On the other side of the ledger Maybagh tallied 8 points as well. The second quarter saw a complete metamorphosis by the two teams. Camkbridge's Khai Smith led all scorers with seven points. He also was a rebounding monster on both ends of the court.
Defense was the strong point of the Falcons as they held the Weston five to only four points. At halftime Cambridge held a twenty point lead 37-17. In the third quarter Weston played well, but, Cambridge was up to the task adding five points to their lead as high scoring guard Hakan West contributed 8 points to his game high 18 points.
The falcons won this contact going away as they put a 117-5 score in the fourth quarter to complete the romp of 70-33. Weston played well despite the final score. Maybagh scored a team high 12 points and Williams' ball handling was a sight to see. Coach Dottin was firm and strong in keeping his team on a path to the playoffs.!
