2018 Little League banquet

2018 Little League banquet

Parents kids and coaches live it up

At the end of every little league baseball season there is a party for coaches,s parents, and players. For a long time there was a banquet held in a hall in a church in North Cambridge. A few years ago the north division of Cambridge decided to hold their celebration at the same baseball field that the major league players played at. It just seemed so logical and it always worked out so well. This year was no exception Follow along now as I will give you the details. There always is a dignatary at this affair. Mayor Marc Mcgovern came and gave a short but effective speech complimenting all of the players, coaches and parents. Having the Mayor come to this affair is a wonderful thing. Now it was time to hand out the trophies and awards. First, we congratulate the two teams from the North DIivision major leagues. The Cubs were the champions. In the playoffs the reds took home the hardware. The minor league reds were the playoff champions. The Dodgers won the regular season and went on to play in the Mayors Cup. There were other gifts to be given out at this party. Sweat shiirts were handed out to all of the twelve year old graduates. There were also sports and lacrosse equipment awarded to some of the players in attendance.

After all of the festivities came to an end every one ate hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chips and sweets. Soon after the players had a softball game. This was just for fun and the boys and girls, had lots of it. The game was played for about 90 minutes. The last but most important part of the evening was held at the raffle table.
There was a raffle for sporting events, such as th New England Revolution Soccer Team tickets. All the proceeds went to the ALS in the name of Sean Lounsbury who passed on some years back. Every year there is a raffle and sweets for the benefit of this horrible disease. So we head on to Littlle League Baseball in 2019, hoping to have another successful year. Good luck to those who graduated to Babe Ruth and other endeavors. Welcome to all those coaches and parents prosper in all they do.
