A visit to Mayour Vellucci Park

A visit to Mayour Vellucci Park

I will explore the many differen reasons to frequent Mayor Vellucci Park

Inman Square is a busy bustling place to shop , eat and just hang out with friends, family or even just to be by yourself. i want to introduce you to one of the most popular places in the Inman Square Center Area. Known as the Mayor Alfred Vellucci Plaza, engraved after one of the most popular city councilor and Mayor of our time. If you look close enough you will see a sculpture of Mayor Vellucci in the beginning of the park.
Many events take place here such as children's parties, adult meetings, Halloween and Christmas parties for adults and children. Music often accompanies these getogethers. The park will often have people feed the pigeons and sparrows with bread and bread crumbs. Children come here with their parents or nannies to sit on either the concrete benches or the wooden benches.
As popular as the plaza is; you will always find a seat or bench whenever you visit. There are other attractions here for you to partake in. There is a consumer board where you will find flyers tacked upon it. These flyers are about many different venues going on in and around the city of Cambridge.
There is a saying that says it is good to stop and smell the flowers. AT the Plaza there are very many rows of flowers which bloomed in the springtime. They accent much beauty for all to see and smell. Another attraction here at the Mayor Vellucci Plaza is a row of bicycles from Hubway Co.that you can rent at an affordable price. There are twelve bikes and usually you can always rent one when you choose to. With the exception of paying to rent a bicycle; every thing here has no cost and there is no limit as to how much time you can spend here.
As with all good things; there is one. but only one downside to this area in Cambridge. Last year, a young adult bicyclist was crashed into by an automobile and she lost her life as a result of the accident. The remains of a vigil that was held for her and her mangled bicycle, is still there at the side enter to the park. Candles and flowers and remind us to travel safely. So be careful when you are in traffic, either by auto or bicycle, That's how Mayor Vellucci would have wanted it to be.
