The Scripture warns humanity:

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lusts of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the father, but of the world. And the world passeth away and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.” 1 John 2:15-17

John in the Scriptures was a man filled with wisdom. He only wrote few chapters in the Bible, but his words are so profound and rich in human relationship. He was filled with God’s love for his fellow human beings:

John says this:

”Whosoever hated his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abideth in him.”

“No man hath ever seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is perfected in us.”

“if a man say I love God, and hate his brother, he is a liar, for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God he hath not seen?”

1 The knowledge of God perfects God’s love in our heart:

Love is the opposite of hate. Look at the hate that dominates our American culture and world. Wars and killings: millions have fled their countries because of war, refugees all over the place, oppressive regimes that refuse to help their own people. Even here in our country: family members are killing each other- husband killing his wife, children killing their parents, guns all over the place. People fill confident and secure in their guns.

But the knowledge of Jesus Christ changes your human love into divine love, and you can love others not like you: not only family members or friends. Even then, family and friends are killing each other. But God’s love is given to you by the Holy Spirit who is God the Third person who lives in the believer. When you have God’s love, you can’t hate anybody. God's love destroys hate. You see people as God sees them. Can you imagine what a world it will be if we all have God’s divine love? We will learn to love each other, regardless of race or color.

When we know Jesus as Savior, He sheds His love in us, and that love is made perfect in us. That love enables you to love your wife, and wife to love his husband. It enables them to raise their children with love, and you teach your children about God’s love. God’s love enables us to love each other regardless of race or color as I have said earlier. God’s love is so deep, and opens our eyes a little bit into God’s deep love for humanity that is transcendental. When you experience God’s love, you will never be the same again.

I do not see people in black or white, Jew or Gentile, Muslim or otherwise. I see human beings God created, and I ask what can I do to make their lives happier, or uplift them for the glory of God.

2 Salvation:

How can you have God’s love you ask: I am tired of hate and wants a way out. The Scripture says:

You can never have God's love without knowing the Lord as Savior-salvation. You must repent to have God's redemption from sin. The Scripture says:

“If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” 1 John 1:8

The Scripture also says:

“All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

Don’t argue and say you are not a sinner. We have all sinned: we lie, cheat, steal, kill, molest children, commit adultery, fornication, etc. Is there any of us who have never done one of these things. For us who are delivered from sin as believers in Jesus Christ, we participated in these things before we were delivered from sin by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Some people argue: I do not lie or cheat. That does not make you holy or righteous. The Scripture says:

“Our righteousness is filthy rags before God.” We are all sinners. Those saved are only by grace.

Our human righteousness is not accepted by God. Jesus went to the cross, died to substitute our sin on the cross. He ransomed us from sin and gave us His righteousness. We are born wicked and sinful. We must accept what Jesus did for us by faith. That is why salvation is not of human effort or work. The Scripture says:

“For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God. And not of works lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8&9

So how do you receive salvation?

Do the following:

• Believe you are a sinner
• Confess your sin, regardless of what you have done
• Ask Jesus to forgive you, and be serious.
• Believe He died for your sin: “If thou shalt confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans: 10:9&10
• If you confess genuinely and believe, the Holy Spirit will immediately forgive your sin and blot it away through the blood of Jesus.
• You will receive the power of the Holy Spirit that enables you to live and defeat sin in your life. If you stole or lied, the Holy Spirit will give you a new power to stop sinning.
• You will be baptized, as a sign you now belong to the Lord.

If you do this with all your heart, your life will radically be changed forever. This is how you receive salvation and you will be filled with God’s divine love.

3 Lusts of this life:

The Scripture warns us: “What is in this life?

• Lusts of the eyes
• Lusts of the flesh
• Pride of life

It does not matter what we have become in life: extremely successful, achieved fame and fortune, political savvy, billionaire or millionaire status, intellectual acumen, we are beautiful, handsome, corporate power, etc., these things shall pass away. God gave them to us for His glory.

Pride of life: you are this, this one is poor, you are rich, you are this or that: all will vanish one day. How many have lost their beautiful homes, material attainment through storms of life? Some have lost their rich political attainment or success. The lusts of life do not last. Material things and money are transient things. They do not last. As you are dying, rich or poor, others are already distributing all you have labored in life. Others will distribute theirs someday too. The poor can become rich tomorrow, while the rich crumbles into poverty. That is life.

The only thing you are getting away with in life, if you have it is God’s salvation and God's love. God gave you material opulence for His glory, and the blessing of others.

These lusts will pass away: money, sex, political power, fame and fortune, entertainment world, lusts for women or men, corporate power, material opulence: everything is passing away and fading as we get closer to End times. God’s love in us endures forever. It is the evidence we know the Lord when we have His love.

4 Eternal life:

Salvation remains the greatest event in human life.

• No matter how materially rich you are: your riches and opulence will never give you peace, only redemption from sin gives true peace. The Scripture says: “There is no peace for the wicked.”
• When you die, you will never take any of these material things with you. Job in the Scriptures reminded us:

‘Naked we came, naked we must depart from this life.’

• God’s love shed in your heart when you received Jesus as Savior-Salvation allows you to live for the glory of God: loving God and doing your best for the glory of God.
• Eternal life means living with Jesus forever in that glorious place where there is no pain or sorrow after your departure from this life. That comes with salvation. Will you not like to live with Jesus forever after your life on earth is over: or you prefer the wrath of God’s judgment-condemned to hell fire?

At that time, it will not matter whether you believe in hell or not, and it will be too late for you. Departure from this life without salvation means, you have wasted your life here on earth: and missed the greatest event in human life.

I pray you will remember to include salvation: the greatest event in human life, in your new year goal or resolve. Have a great year of fulfillment of your dreams from the Lord.
