LOCAL MUNICIPAL POLICY, IT'S ONGOING BLATANT DISREGARD FOR BELOW MARKET RATE HOMELESS HOUSING, DUE TO A PARALYSIS OF ELECTED ACTION!

PEACE, SECURITY, AND SANITY BE UNTO YOU,
HELLO EVERYBODY, MY PUBLIC COMMENT IS

THE CITY FOR SOMETIME NOW HAS BEEN FAILING TO MAKE HOMELESS AFFORDABLE HOUSING ITS TOP PRIORITY, LIKE HUNDREDS OF OTHER US CITIES HAVE DONE OR ARE CURRENTLY UNDERTAKING. THE CAMBRIDGE CONTINUUM OF CARE AND THE RECENT 2015 CAMBRIDGE CHARETTE ON HOMELESSNESS RECOMMENDATIONS ON HOMELESSNESS, CONFIRMS THAT HOMELESSNESS SHOULD BE A THE VERY TOP OF COMMUNITY NEEDS. THAT IS THE NEED FOR BELOW MARKET RATE PERMANENT HOMELESS POVERTY HOUSING., THE GREATEST OF LOCAL POVERTY HOUSING NEEDS, I FEEL THE CITY MISSED THE MARK, AND STILL IS DOING SO, IN ITS VISION OF BUILDING 1000 AFFORDABLE NEW UNIT. THE CITY DIDN’T DO AN ADEQUATE JOB IN SECURING THE FOUNDRY BUILDING, SULLIVAN COURT HOUSE, AND VOLPE CENTER PROPERTIES, WHEN FAIR OPPORTUNITIES APPEARED TO DO SO, THESE WERE EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITIES, THAT WERE IN CONCORD WITH FEDERAL HOMELESS HOUSING MANDATES,ETC., THAT COULD HAVE BEEN LOCALLY EXPLOITED TO CONVERT THE THREE LOCATIONS INTO BELOW MARKET RATE HOUSING FOR THE EXTREMELY LOW INCOME HOMELESS SECTOR AND MOSAIC.

THERE IS SOME DISCREPANCY ABOUT THE POINT IN TIME COUNT WHEN THE CAMBRIDGE HOUSING AUTHORITY IS STATING THAT NEARLY 9000 OR ABOVE ARE ON ITS WAITING LISTS FOR HOUSING, AND THAT INCLUDES HOMELESS CITIZENS AND RESIDENTS, AND THOSE AT RISK OF BECOMING HOMELESS. I KNOW AND YOU ALL ALSO KNOW THAT THERE IS STILL GOVERNMENT SUPPORT ON THE TABLE FOR SUCH POVERTY HOUSING RELATED VENTURES, BUT THE MUNICIPALITY IS FAILING TO HARNESS THE AVAILABILITY OF THESE RESOURCES FOR THOSE THAT ARE BEING EXCLUDED BY THE INCLUSIONARY HOUSING BUSINESS,ETC.

YOU ALL AT MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT, KEEP SAYING NOT IN MY BACK YARD (NIMBY) AND DON’T REALIZE IT OR DON’T WANT TO REALIZE IT FOR OBVIOUS OR UNOBVIOUS REASONS. THERE SHOULD BE NO IF AND AND'S ABOUT IT SHOULD BE YES IN MY BACK YARD (YIMBY), ALL THE WAY TOWARDS EQUITABLE HUMAN SERVICE INCLUSIONARY GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT, FOR OUR HOMELESS SECTOR AND MOSAIC.
