Peace,Security, and Sanity Be Unto You,

I would like to bring to your attention the current unaddressed state and condition, of the sidewalk in front of the former Chamber of Commerce Building, at 859 Massachusetts Avenue and Clinton Street. It is just a short walk from the Lombardi Building. The sidewalk in front of it, is sinking into the subway system beneath. I feel that everyone that walks past it is in grave danger. Anyone can see that it’s falling into the subway system beneath.

The city council, etc., needs to take another serious look at the deteriorating condition of the sidewalk in front of the building. The current rehabilitation and repairs being administered to the property makes no sense if nothing is being done to prevent the sidewalk from sinking into the subway system beneath it. The posted work schedule doesn’t include anything relating to or addressing this deteriorating sidewalk dilemma.

This strip of city sidewalk property is in worst condition than the sidewalks recently repaired in front of the Cambridge YMCA, Cambridge Citywide Senior Center, and the US Post Office, etc. The very lives of passersby, and others are in serious danger, as long as the city allows this situation to remain unaddressed. Thank you if you all find the time and energy to look into this.

Yours In Peace, Security, and Sanity,
Mr. Hasson J. Rashid
