CCTV Seeks Nominees for Board of Directors

CCTV is seeking nominees for its Board of Directors

Cambridge Community Television is governed by a Board of Directors that includes both appointed and elected seats. This year, there will be 4 elected openings on the Board, which will be filled at the Annual Meeting. 2 of the 4 will be one-year terms for Member Representatives; the remaining 2 will be full two-year seats. Individuals are sought who broadly represent the communities served by CCTV. If you are interested in serving on CCTV’s Board of Directors, please read the following, and submit the nomination form.

The full Board meets monthly; board members also participate in committee meetings that are held as needed. Nominees for the Board of Directors may be CCTV members or non-members; Member Representatives must be Access Members of CCTV.

Committees

Individuals from the Board of Directors, other CCTV members, members of the public with specific expertise, and CCTV staff participate in the following standing committees:

Programming and Policies: responsible for ensuring the availability of a wide variety of programming addressing the interests and needs of Cambridge residents. The committee meets as needed to hear appeals regarding application of the policies, membership status, and any other member grievances.

Fundraising: meets in the spring to help identify potential supporters for CCTV’s sponsorship programs and annual fundraiser.

Membership, Advocacy, and Outreach: develops and implements strategies for ensuring a broad based membership. The committee is also responsible for advocating for public policy that will foster a healthy environment at CCTV and other public access facilities nationwide.

Mass Communications Technologies: meets in the fall to evaluate equipment and facilities needs and develop a capital budget.

Finance: regularly monitors CCTV’s income and expenses and meets in the fall to develop the annual operating budget.

Personnel: responsible for all matters pertaining to personnel. Restricted to full Board members only; Member Representatives may not sit on the Personnel Committee.

The timetable for the election of the Board of Directors is:

March 25 -- information on nominees will be made available to members
April 25 -- Annual Meeting Board nominees will present themselves to the membership for consideration and a vote will be held.
