In the 19th episode of Cambridge Uncovered, NeighborMedia Coordinator Frank Morris sits down with guests from two Cambridge-based startups to talk about their businesses and how they have thrived in the city of Cambridge. Andrew Vassallo is the co-founder and general manager of FundLatinos.com, a crowdsourcing site for the Latino Community. Founded in 2016, FundLatinos, which is based out of Harvard Square, is gaining traction for Latino causes across the country. One user of the site, Diana Cardona, has used FundLatinos to launch a campaign for her upcoming storefront business, Chocolaffee, a sweets store in Revere that she is hoping to open soon. In another segment, Ryan Davis and Ty Wilson of CustomMade.com, a company out of the East Cambridge/Kendall Square area, tell the story of their business and how it went from a startup five years ago to a thriving business that garners worldwide attention. A roll-in video produced by teens in Cambridge Community Television's Youth Media Program highlights another Cambridge startup, OLE - the Open Learning Exchange, an organization that is "committed to ensuring that everyone, especially our children, has access to a high-quality basic education."
