This week CCTV is excited to introduce two new series to Channel 8 in Cambridge.

Bay State Forum is a public affairs show about topics of interest around Massachusetts, moderated by Barbara Anthony. Issues under discussion will include healthcare, housing and business development, the MBTA, the prospect of Boston hosting the Olympics in 2024, and more. Anthony has served as Undersecretary of Consumer Affairs & Business Regulation, and now serves as Senior Fellow in Healthcare, working on quality and price transparency, at Pioneer Institute. She is also a Senior Fellow at the Center for Business & Government, Harvard Kennedy School, working in healthcare policy. Watch Bay State Forum twice weekly, Tuesdays at 8:30pm and Thursdays at 1pm.

For younger viewers of Channel 8, Peter and Pals is a new children's show, full of puppets, music, and storytelling. Join Peter Sheriden on Tuesday mornings at 10:30am and Thursday afternoons at 2pm.

This Saturday's Channel 9 marathon focuses on the environment, starting from a global perspective, and then focusing on local Cambridge topics. Environmental programming will be airing throughout the day, from 12 noon until midnight. Learn about Genetically Modified Foods, the Cambridge Recycling Drop-Off Center, the City Sprouts in-school gardening program, MIT's Nuclear Power Plant, and much more — take a look at our online television schedule for precise program times.

Finally, once you've finished your veggies, it's time for dessert. Take a trip just beyond Cambridge to Somerville's Taza Chocolate Factory with Neighbormedia reporter Kristina Kehrer. In Taza Celebrates Cinco de Mayo, Kristina tours the chocolate factory and asks the important questions, such as "Is chocolate an aphrodisiac?" Catch this and other new member productions on Channel 9, Sunday May 24 at 1pm, and Friday May 25 at 6:30pm.
