12th Annual Cambridge Port/Area 4 Community Pride Day will be a celebration of Peace & Pride
Creating peace in our community while sharing critical resources and food with neighbors

CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts— The Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House, the City of Cambridge Police Department and Department of Human Services Programs, the Community Art Center, the Men’s Health League, MIT, and the Area 4 Coalition collaborate on this annual community block party to celebrate Peace & Pride in the Port/Area 4 neighborhood.

WHAT: The Port/Area 4 Pride Day is a free public event featuring activities and resources for all ages. This year, Pride Day will feature an exhibition of the Community Art Center’s “Change for Peace,” an ongoing art-making and music series. Local community based organizations will be in attendance to offer information about critical resources and services ranging from health to housing to education. Popular events such as the basketball tournament (ages 12 – adults), live music and entertainment, and giveaways will be back this year. Children’s activities will include arts & crafts, face-painting, pony rides, as well as games and amusements. Attendees who visit resource tables are provided tickets for food from the cook-out.

WHY: This annual celebration is an opportunity for Cambridge residents from all backgrounds to take pride in the Port/Area 4 neighborhood. The event highlights the positive qualities and peacemaking efforts that occur on a daily basis in the community, while allowing for the enjoyment fun activities and good food. This event presents an exciting opportunity to bring neighbors together in the hopes of fostering a culture of collaborations and creative programming that makes the City of Cambridge so special.
