Making the Parody for Film & TV

Making the Parody for Film & TV

Create your own parody of popular TV and films!

Monday, August 18, 2014 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm

The practice of imitating original works for the purpose of satire or ironic commentary has a history spanning the evolution of genres, from the ancient Greek comedies of Aristophanes to the song parodies of "Weird Al" Yankovic. In this class, we will create parodies of popular film and television genres, styles, and specific works. Along the way, we will explore what makes parody effective by closely examining film and TV originals alongside their parodic counterparts. This class is a production, project-based class (meaning you will produce a short video by the end of the class). Instructor: Brad Glanden

Pre-requisites: CCTV Orientation, Field Camera I, Edit I and a previously submitted certification project (ask if you have questions)
