Students will learn to produce their own professional 3-5 minute news segments in the field!

Monday, February 24, 2014 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm

In this 5 session production class students will learn to produce their own professional 3-5 minute news segments in the field, working in teams or working alone. This class will provide instruction on traditional methods of story-telling, exploring voice-over as well as visual devices. Students will acquire knowledge of interviewing techniques - such as appropriate lighting, capturing optimal sound, choosing the right questions, and asking questions in a productive way. Students will also learn editing strategies specific to news coverage- such as writing for voice-over, and cutting between interview footage and b-roll. One story from this class will be replayed in a topical talk show as a component of a future class. Instructor: Ben Brown
