As Believers, You Must Practice Holiness & Living In Peace With Your Neighbor Before You Can See Jesus.

Paul reminded the believer in Corinthians 15:19: “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.” As we wade through life’s complexities, joys, sadness, etc, let the believer remember the following:

• Peace with your neighbor:

This is one of God’s greatest commandments. Jesus Himself reconciled us back to His father by dying on the cross for us, destroyed sin, forgave our sins and gave us peace. “My peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth give I unto you.” Without this peace, the professing believer, whether black or white, Jew or Gentile, any nationality, will never enter into the kingdom of God, or see Jesus someday when it is all over in this life.

First, you see some people who live with black or white neighbors, even next door rarely talk to each other. As a believer in Jesus Christ, God has given you the Holy Spirit to do the impossible: to do those things you were not able to do before you became a Christian. Now your heart is changed from hate to love; from arrogance- a feeling of superiority to humility. You must exercise this new power. The Scripture says: “As many as received him to them gave he power to become the children of God, even to them that believe on his name.” John 1:12 Reach out to your neighbor, or whoever lives around you. Knock on their doors if you don’t see them for a while: and talk to them regardless of what color they are. Seek peace with all your neighbors whoever they are or where ever you go: schools, work place, etc.

So must our political leaders seek peace with their political opponents, and not seek or strife to destroy them. The political leader must also determine to reach out to nations who are not like them, or talk like them, or dress like them, or not allies with financial and economic interests: but seek to mediate genuine peace among nations of the world. Without God’s peace in you, with your neighbor, with nations of the world who are deemed enemies for some reason, you as a political leader, or in individual will never inherit the kingdom of God, or see Jesus someday.

First John 3:15 says “Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.”

And it continues:

“No one has ever seen God, but if we love each other, God’s love is in us. And his love is made complete in us.” First John 4:12

Many Churches still find it difficult to accept those unlike them: both black and white indulge in these ruthless and racial game, and expect to enter into the kingdom of God where ‘God is no respecter of persons:" and will reward humans according to their deeds.’ God is preparing a kingdom where men and women who loved Him : white or black, Jew or Gentile, all nationalities will live together in harmony and peace forever and ever. Then this worldly kingdom will be destroyed.

Jesus said in Mathew 24:14:

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; then shall the end come.”

The only reason Jesus is delaying to end the world is His love for humanity, not desiring anybody to perish. He reaches out to the sinner day and night, in dreams, and at all times pleading for them to repent. There are still many who have not received His message of redemption, and He has no intention of destroying the sinner. Whether you are a politician, ordinary person, lawyer, doctor, teacher, banker or financial tycoon, it does not matter. Jesus is waiting for you to repent or it may be too late for you. Seek the way of peace, not war with your neighbor, or others not like you, or speak like you, dress like you. God who created varieties of people was wise in His creation, and knew we can blend and enjoy each other for His glory; because if we are going to live in heaven together, it must begin here on earth.

• Seek after holiness without which you will not see God:

We live in the land of freedom where everyone has this concept of freedom to live anyhow they want without accountability, responsibility and restraint. God hates sin and disobedience to His will. It is sin that has destroyed nations of the world and empires-wickedness and immorality. God’s love for humanity is deep and transcendental, really unimaginable. Humans can never comprehend God’s deep love and patience. But that love can also time out and judgment will quickly follow on those who have set their heart to commit sin and wickedness. The Scriptures says: “Because God does not pass judgement quickly on the sons of men, they set their heart to do evil.” A song writer said:

“O’ golden day when life shall end
And dawns glory shall unfold
And He who knows the path I take
Shall ope for me the gates of gold
Earth’s little life will soon be gone
And pilgrim song will soon be o’er
And grace that saves
Shall time out last
And be my theme on yonder shore
Then I shall know as I am known
And stand complete before thy throne
Then I shall see my Savior's face
And be my theme on yonder shore

Someday, the grace of God that saves shall time out and will no longer be there; and the sinner who refused to repent perishes and ends up in hell to stand before God in judgement someday. That is why when God speaks to your conscience about repentance, don’t hesitate and harden your heart and continue in your wickedness. The Scripture says: “There is a way that seems good unto a man, but that way is the way of destruction.” Sit for a moment, ponder and ask yourself: what way have I chosen to walk in my life? Is it the way of obedience to God’s will, and listening to the Holy Spirit through my conscience? if Jesus should come right now, am I ready to meet Him? Death sometimes comes unexpectedly and it is too late to confess our sins; and we die suddenly.

• Holiness and peace, the only passport to seeing Jesus and to heaven:

What a peaceful world it would be if all professing believers, temple attendants, all those who are waiting for the coming of Jesus, and aspiring to go to heaven will seek desperately holiness and peace. But unfortunately, there is no heaven, or eternal life or seeing Jesus without these two crucial ingredients in Christian worship- holiness and peace. Many who profess faith: spiritual leaders, political leaders, ordinary individuals don’t have it. That is why our world is in chaos-tending to World War Nuclear.

God calls us unto “holiness and peace, without which no man shall see God.” Hebrews 12:14 With these two powerful refreshing words, we can change our world for good, not constant war, conflict, intrigue, lies with each other. That is destroying the beautiful world God gave us. Rather, let us practice love, respect, humility, holiness, peace and compassion towards each other. That will elevate and help us enjoy our world, and be more joyful individuals, instead of bitter and angry people.

A poem on peace by the writer:

When my mind
Is free
Free of guilt
Free of resentment
Free of bitterness
Free of jealousy
Free of turbulence
Free and quiet
Purged and sanctified

The Lord comes in
To create peace
For He alone creates peace
For it is not given
To the sons of men
To create peace

The Lord alone creates peace
When the mind is purged
When the mind is sanctified

Is what I think
When I remember peace

Poem on holiness

Holiness is humility
It is the core of redemption
It is the significance of the cross
It is the greatest challenge of the Christian faith
It is the antithesis of human pride
It is all about obedience to His will
They are joyful who are holy
They are filled with the Holy Spirit
They are anointed with the Spirit
They are blessed
They are favored
Who are holy
