Join us on Thursday, September 22, 2005 @ 5:30 PM. Buy tickets online! The annual BBQ is first and foremost a fundraiser for Cambridge Community Television’s outreach programs, including the popular Summer Media Institute (SMI) for Cambridge high school students, and targeted computer tutorials for seniors and recent immigrants.

The Barbecue will open with music from talented Cambridge Rindge and Latin musicians and vocalists. After the awards presentation, you can bop til you drop to your favorite doo-wop, honky tonk, jump, rockabilly, rhythm and blues and good old rock n' roll numbers from The Blue Suede Boppers.

As is the tradition at CCTV’s BBQ, all food will be provided and prepared by local chefs from a diverse group of restaurants. Sample food and drinks from Jules Catering, Iggy’s bread of the World, the Blue Room, East Coast Grill, Cambridge Brewing Company, India Pavilion, Picante, La Groceria Ristaurante, Middle East, Green Street Grill, Whole Foods Markets, Sidney’s Grille, Pepsi Cola, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, Dado Tea, Ryles Jazz Club, 1369 Coffeehouse, and Carberry’s. The main course will be provided by Texas Roadhouse Everett. Central Square Florist, the Charles Hotel, Central Plaza LLC, and University Stationery are also event donors.

Susan Flannery, Director of Libraries for the City of Cambridge is this year’s recipient of Cambridge Community Television's Leading Role Award. The award will be presented at CCTV’s Back Stage Barbecue, Brought to You by Cambridge Savings Charitable Foundation, on September 22, beginning at 5:30 PM.

Tickets are $35 (in advance, mail checks by Sept. 15th to CCTV, 675 Mass. Ave., Cambridge, MA 02139); $40 (at the door) $15 (under 12). All proceeds go to CCTV’s special outreach programs. For those who decide to stay at home, the September 22nd BBQ can be seen live beginning at 5:30 p.m. on CCTV’s Channel 9 and on the internet at www.cctvcambridge.org (but don't expect the live broadcast to taste as good as attending in person!)
