CCTV's community journalism platform is growing its team of volunteer reporters!
Are you:
- A community advocate, activist, artist or member of an organization interested in sharing news and perspectives about the issues you care about?
- A credit-earning college student who is interested in gaining real-world media experience?
- Wishing to share hyperlocal stories about the people, places, issues and events of Cambridge's very own communities?
- Looking to provide a global audience with a Cambridge-centric perspective on issues facing our nation and the world?
- Hoping to build multimedia journalism and media production skills?
- Intrigued by the idea of receiving a free CCTV membership, unlimited free classes at CCTV, and a small stipend for contributing to our news team?
If you answered yes, we want you on our team!
Here are ways you can contribute:
- Ongoing Reporter: Cambridge residents who contribute 2 written pieces or 1 video per month. They get a free CCTV membership and free unlimited classes. Eligible to receive stipends.
- Guest Contributor: Individuals who can’t meet the ongoing reporter commitment or who don’t live in Cambridge and still want to submit the occasional or 1-time piece. No free CCTV membership, but get access to CCTV Cambridge News platform.
- Nonprofit Neighbor: Cambridge-serving nonprofits and organizations can share their Cambridge-centric news on CCTV Cambridge News for free.
- Intern: Interns are given weekly assignments and gain free CCTV membership and free classes for four-month period. Can earn college credit through school.
