Youth Media Coordinator

Cambridge Community Television is the public access television and computer multimedia center serving the extraordinary city of Cambridge, Massachusetts. CCTV is seeking a part-time Youth Media Coordinator for our year-round teen program. The Youth Media Program teaches teens media making and career readiness skills as they work as media artists to create media exploring their lives and community.

The Youth Media Coordinator’s responsibilities include: working with other CCTV staff to develop CCTV’s youth program, recruiting participants, developing curriculum, teaching, and coordinating collaborations with other agencies. This year, the program will focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and teens will explore these concepts in the media they produce. We will also explore 360 filmmaking.

This is a part-time position, 20-25 hours weekly in the afternoons. Some weekend work might be required. Depending upon qualifications in other areas, this may become a full-time position.

CCTV’s teen media program successfully combines work experience with a high quality media production program. The successful candidate will be an energetic, creative, team player with excellent organizational, digital video production, and computer skills. People skills, knowledge of youth development and experience working with urban teens in a diverse, ever-changing environment is required. Strong technical skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues as they arise is helpful.

Media Production Educator

Cambridge Community Television is the nationally recognized community media center serving the extraordinary city of Cambridge, Massachusetts. CCTV is seeking an experienced Media Production Educator with strong digital video teaching and technical skills.

The successful candidate will display a passion for working in a diverse, stimulating environment to teach media production to people of all ages, with varying levels of knowledge and expertise – from novices to professional artists and filmmakers, and will show a passion for providing access to technology and the media for everyone.

Responsibilities include working with the Media & Technology Education Coordinator to develop curriculum and teach studio, field, editing, and social media workshops in the general training program and special workshops for CCTV collaborators. The Media Production Educator will facilitate an ongoing journalism training program for citizen journalists.

Applicants should possess very strong interpersonal, customer service, communication, teaching, and organizational skills, and the ability to provide technical support for software, hardware, and production equipment in a fast-paced technical environment. Excellent video production, computer and problem solving skills are required, as is experience teaching field and studio production, digital editing, and social media. Prior experience in community media is a plus, as is knowledge of Cambridge. Knowledge of and experience working in a community that is racially, ethnically and economically diverse is strongly preferred. Bilingual applicants strongly encouraged to apply.
