Check Out a Book from the Cambridge Human Library

CCTV and the Cambridge Public Library will host the Human Library 5/5/18

Saturday, May 5, 2018 - 1:00pm

You can't judge a book by its cover. Check out a book from the Cambridge Human Library! CCTV and the Cambridge Public Library have gathered human “books” to be checked out by “readers” for 30-minute conversations from 1pm-4pm on May 5. Readers will have the opportunity to talk to people in our community who have experienced discrimination or stigma based on who they are, where they come from, or how they self-identify.

Use this form to request reservation(s) for one or more books. Books will only be available on May 5, 2018 at the Cambridge Public Library in 30-minute slots at specified times. Please provide your top five requests; the organizers will do our best to accommodate as many "readers" as possible.

If you would like to form a book group, please bring no more than three people. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

By submitting this form, you are accepting responsibility for returning books in the condition in which you found them; you agree to be respectful of the books' experience and to engage in constructive exchanges.

We will provide your book schedule one week prior to the event.

Applications may be submitted in writing at the main desk of the Cambridge Public Library, or at CCTV, 438 Massachusetts Avenue in Central Square. Applications are due no later than May 1, 2018.

The Human Library is a collaboration between the Cambridge Public Library and Cambridge Community Television.
