This Week on TV: Celebrate Cambridge Arts River Festival

The 2017 Cambridge Arts River Festival will take place on Saturday, June 3, 2017

Travel back in Cambridge history, with River Fests of years past this weekend on Channel 9.

CCTV's River Fest marathon runs Fri. Jun. 2, 6-9pm, Sat. Jun. 3 noon-midnight, and Sun. Jun. 4 12-4pm.

The program includes scenes from River Fest 1990 and 1997, as well as contemporary fests from the past few years.

Other programs honoring the great Charles River will also be included in the mix - including short documentaries on the Charles River White Geese, the Weeks Footbridge, Community Swims in the river, and more.

Liza, produced by Julie Masis, features Masis' great aunt, Russian immigrant Liza Belenkaya, who talks about surviving WWII and about her life shortly before her death - in Russian, with English subtitles.

I Oblivious is a drama short by Faical Chadimi, that tells the story about human ignorance of world issues. (Poverty, racism,war...). "Adam" (The main character) is having an internal argument with his subconscious over these world issues. He debates how most humans act like they don't belong to this world: acting selfishly and irresponsibly, when in fact, they are the source of each problem that currently exists.

From the Top is an interview with Ian Beg, the director of Subject: Matter, an local tap troupe. Includes footage from their show From the Top - produced by Kristina Kehrer.

It Aint Over till Dover is a performance by local comedians in Dover, NH - also filmed by Kehrer.
