CCTV’s ZipDocs Beginning Documentary Production Class this month visited the Central Square Theater. Watch interviews with staff and learn more about the work they do.

This and other New Member Productions, on Channel 8 Tuesday and Sunday starting at 7pm and Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday starting at 11am.

On Channel 9, Theatrical Productions all weekend long

The ZipDocs mini-documentary Behind the Scenes at Central Square Theater will also kick off a Theater and Performance Marathon on Channel 9, Friday 6-9pm, Saturday noon-midnight, and Sunday 12-4pm. Also on the schedule:

Brother Blue with Falling In Love with Shakespeare and King Lear, Friday Aug. 12 at 6 and 6:30pm.

Karma Comedians Boston-area stand up comics Friday Aug. 12 at 7pm and Sunday Aug. 14 at 9pm.

Toussant L'Overture and the Haitian Revolution, an original play by students this year at the Benjamin Banneker School, Saturday Aug. 13 at 12:40pm.

Mother G, a play set in a black church in Dorchester in 1963, Saturday Aug. 13 at 1:15pm.

Port/Area 4 Stories of Belonging, inter-generational oral histories from Port area residents put together by the Cambridge Historical Society, Saturday Aug. 13 at 3:35pm and Sunday Aug. 14 at 10:40pm.

Juliette and Romeo, a female-centered take on Shakespeare's famous drama, by Momentum Theatre Troupe, Saturday Aug. 13 at 5:30pm.

The Rape of Lucretia chamber opera by Benjamin Britten, Saturday Aug. 13 at 7:30pm and Sunday Aug. 14 at 1:10pm.

Surly Girl, Ascending & Descending, a play depicting twenty-one years of family life during and after World War II, Saturday Aug. 13 at 9:30pm.

During CCTV’s Local Issues and Events blocks this week

The Charles River Conservancy offers residents the opportunity to swim in the Charles at the fourth annual City Splash event. The CRC also announced the completion of a feasibility study for a permanent swimming location at North Point Park.
