This Week on TV: Which Candidates have your vote this September 8?

Massachusetts State Primary Elections are coming up next month

Two rousing Candidate Debates last week, co-hosted by Cambridge Community Television (CCTV) and Somerville Community Television (SCATV)

Watch the discourse between candidates for State Representative incumbent Timothy Toomey and challenger Mike Connolly, and between candidates for State Senate incumbent Patricia Jehlen and challenger Leland Cheung, and find out where they stand on the issues that are important to you. This week on Channel 8, Tues. Aug. 2 and Thurs. Aug. 4 at 10pm, Wed. Aug. 3 and Fri. Aug. 5 at 9am, and Sat. Aug. 6 and Sun. Aug. 7 at 12pm.

You can help even further inform your vote when you watch one-on-one interviews with each of the candidates. Also on Channel 8, Weds. Aug. 3, Thurs. Aug. 4, and Sat. Aug. 6 from 5-6:30pm.

All of the programs will broadcast on the channels until the September 8 primaries, and the CCTV online schedule will continue to be updated with upcoming times.

You may already have heard the news that City Manager Richard C. Rossi, public servant for the City of Cambridge for more than 45 years, is set to retire. Darrin Korte, Sam Gebru, and the Cambridge Community Center arranged for a sit-down Farewell Conversation with the City Manager. Watch their conversation this week on Channel 8, Tues. Aug. 2 at 7:30pm, Weds. Aug. 3 and Thurs. Aug 4 at 11:30am, and Sun. Aug. 7 at 7:30pm.

In other news, CCTV received national recognition for five of its 2015 productions at this year's Hometown Media Awards competition

The winning videos - which include coverage of the 2015 Revels Riversing, NeighborMedia's weekly Facecast news wrap-up, and three videos from CCTV's Youth Media Program - What Is a Feminist?, Recycle, Repair, Reuse in Cambridge, and Ray (Music Video) - will play this week on Channel 9, Friday 8/5 at 6pm, Saturday 8/6 at 12pm and 5:30pm, and Sunday 8/7 at 12pm.

This week, meet Raymond, Master Psychic and Tarot Reader with NeighborMedia correspondent Kristina Kehrer. Raymond has been psychic all his life and started “reading” in 1956. A Cambridge resident for more than 33 years, he has worked at the Tremont Tea Room since the early seventies and has a large following of regulars.
