Historic Harvard Sq. newsstand to close
November 20, 2008 - 8:12am — NataliePerlinI will be sad to see this Historic newsstand close. Located right outside the Harvard T Station. Out Of Town News has been a local favorite place for Cantabrigians to buy newspapers and magazines from all over the world since 1955.Cambridge City Officials are hoping to find another news dealer tenant for the shop, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
This story is another sad example of the demise of Harvard Square's culture and history.
The Boston Globe ran a heartbreaking interview with Sheldon Cohen, who founded Out Of Town News in 1955.

Finagle a Bagel opens near Cambridgeside Galleria / Lechmere Train Station.
November 18, 2008 - 10:45pm — WilliamONeillFinagle a Bagel recently opened near Cambridgeside Galleria / Lechmere Train Station. This is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Although I would rather something more independent, it does seem nice to have an alternative to Dunkin's (sorry, me not like). Certainly this will delight many public transporties during a freezing morning. It is located at the corner of First and Cambridge Street. You can wait to see the train arrive!
