CCTV is a free speech forum protected by the First Amendment. Responsibility for the content of the programming seen on CCTV’s channels lies with the producer or sponsor of the program. The staff, Board of Directors of CCTV, the City of Cambridge, and Comcast are not responsible for, and may not censor the content of the programming on CCTV. If a court of law determines that programming represents speech that is not protected under the First Amendment, a judge may order CCTV to cease playing that program. CCTV has the right to place a disclaimer before and after any program that, in its best judgment, it feels may be objectionable to viewers. CCTV requires that the producer/sponsor obtain all necessary releases and clearances. Presentation of programming that is commercial in nature, or programming that does not have the necessary releases and clearances is prohibited.
