New Generation Energy

Thanks to the generosity of individual donors, the Cambridge Community Center (CCC) in Cambridge, Mass. was able to raise $759 for an Energy Star-rated refrigerator on New Generation Energy’s Green Project Listing Site.

“NGE has helped the Cambridge Community Center take the first step to being a green center,” said Jose Mendez, CCC’s director of marketing and outreach. “We hope to continue working with NGE to make the center as green as can be.”

This refrigerator replaced the CCC’s old inefficient model, and it is expected to save the center $3,862 and 26,422 lbs of CO2 over its lifetime. To celebrate the completion of the project — and the awesomeness of the new fridge — New Generation Energy and the CCC had an ice pop party, which is featured in the photos above.

As promised, the CCC is hard at work on planning its next green project. Check back soon for more details — or sign up for our newsletter to get the latest project information.
