Pictures of ideas

When I was at the store on Monday I took some digital pictures of things that might work in the documentary. Ten of them are hosted (for a week) at http://www.picupine.com/99a48f9x

Pictures 1-2 are side and front views of the store, taken from an angle view.

Picture 3 is the "Going Out of Business" sign that I talked about before.

Picture 4 shows one of the storefront displays, which is now empty. We could contrast this with a picture of the same display when the store was in business.

Picture 5 is the side employee entrance.

Picture 6 shows the street sign at the intersection where the store is located. It might be good to put in an introduction.

Picture 7 shows the exhaust vent in the front of the store. According to the story at http://theonlinephotographer.blogspot.com/2006/10/ferranti-dege-rip_19.h...
when the store was in business, the exhaust from the basement would be blown out onto the street, and passersby could smell the odor of fixer. Maybe we could get a picture of exhaust coming from there, to contrast with this now-inactive vent.

Picture 8 shows part of the inside of the store, maybe the working area. Maybe we could contrast this with a busy shot of the same area when the store was still open.

Picture 9 shows some window railings above the store, with an ornate "F" inscribed within. I forgot to ask Tony (who hasn't gotten back to me, by the way) if this stood for Ferranti. Maybe there's a piece of trivia there about the age of the building.

Picture 10 is just a straight shot of the store from across the street.

Also, there's a picture of the store in business at http://www.photo.net/philg/digiphotos/200101-d30-boston/ferranti-dege.ha...
and if you go to flickr and search for "ferranti" you can see 5 pictures of a younger Tony Ferranti. If we wanted to use those photos, we could ask the original photographers for better versions, and hope they'd give them to us for free.
