IN CAMBRIDGE!

A few weeks ago I went to a lecture for the E-Fux Video rental system that has been installed at the SERT gallery at the Carpenter Center in Harvard. Since then, I have been renting videos every other day -

The "exhibition" runs from February 8–April 13, 2007

It was created to give a wider audience to video art and video artists. These tapes that usually go for $75 to rent from a distributer are here for your renting pleasure at NO COST. Renting is free, Membership is free!

Video art was created as a low cost art form where it could be displayed anywhere. Living rooms, bathrooms, basements, kitchens, alley ways, could become a gallery in which to view art. E-Flux does the same and delivers that same aesthetic to us the culture creators.

I urge everyone to check out this exhibition before it goes away. With every rental I have found something that interests me. Right now I'm on this kick with these russian video artists:

Viatcheslav Mizan & Alexander Shaburov

Wow, I graduated!

I've decided to return to CCTV on the recommendation of my therapist.

My first steps and creative accomplishment for greater recognition are supplied in this following clip. I recently produced this to promote my new BeLive: Jamie O'Brien: LIVE.

I hope you enjoy it and tune in next week Tuesday February 6th 7:00 pm (soon to be 7:30)

"Wintern" meeting/potluck for Marissa's interns

Hey Marissa's interns,

I'm planning a "Wintern" meeting/potluck for you all.

When: Wed 12/20 @ 630-9pm
Where: CCTV's Big Studio

In case you are stumped, this is what happens when you combine winter w/ intern. It gets a little out of control.

The meeting should take no more than an hour between 630-730pm and after that feel free to stay as long as you'd like and party.

At this meeting we will meet each other and explain what our role is at CCTV and then we'll eat a lot of food. If you can, please bring one item of food/beverage to share w/ everyone else. Feel free to bring music too.

Let me know asap if you can make it!!! And let me if you think you'll bring food or beverage. (Doing this is not mandatory--CCTV will also provide some snacks as well).

Hope to hear from you soon,
Marissa
