Youth Media Screening, August 11 at Cambridge Public Library

Cambridge high school students involved in CCTV's Summer Media Institute (SMI) and CEA's Youth View Cambridge (YVC) will host a screening of their work on Wednesday, August 11th at 6:00 pm in the Cambridge Public Library's Lecture Hall at 449 Broadway .

The SMI, the summer component of CCTV's year round Youth Media Program, is designed to teach Cambridge teens media making and career readiness skills, as they work as media artists. This summer, youth participants are producing silent films and personal narratives. For their final project, participants will select their topic and genre.

YVC Online! 2010 presents news and opinions on 4 themes: Cambridge Going Green, Teen Health, Arts & Culture, and Students Serving the Community. Students are creating blogs, audio podcasts, slideshows and videos that inform the community on a breadth of topics. Students will screen a preview of the content that will be available on YARDS, an on-line resource for the educational community of Cambridge, starting in September.
