NeighborMedia says Goodbye to Rhinesmith
Colin Rhinesmith, CCTV’s Community Media and Technology Manager, read a farewell card from members of NeighborMedia at the group’s monthly meeting on Tuesday, July 21. A ceremonial cake was presented by blogger SB (Siobhan Bredin).
Rhinesmith leaves CCTV at the end of July to enter a Ph.D. program in Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The station’s new Community Technology Coordinator, Nicole Belanger, will work with the NeighborMedia program, he said.
Rhinesmith reported on the 2010 Conference of the Alliance for Community Media held in Pittsburgh earlier this month. He was a presenter at the conference and will continue to be involved in ACM’s citizen journalism initiatives.

Nice to hear from you, EKanze. Yes, Colin did some good things at NeighborMedia; hope you have had a chance to meet Nicole--she's picking up the torch.
Hi Elizabeth, thanks for your comment. I was excited to start working at CCTV, but was sad to see Colin go. Sounds like things are going well with him out in Illinois though. Please say hi next time you're in for your radio show or BeLive. Look forward to seeing your next blog post, too. Take care!
I miss Colin so much ,because he was so great to talk. He was always understanding and kind.
Thanks Jenny and Phoebe!
Yes, I was very lucky to have enjoyed two lovely cakes last week. I felt very important ;)
Take care!
Wow, two cakes in one week!
Thanks for the internship opportunity, Colin! Good luck with your Ph. D.

Aww, Colin. I'm sorry I'm missed the party. Best of luck in school.

Thank you, Mary!
It has truly been an honor for me to work with you and the other dedicated and passionate members of the NeighborMedia program.
I look forward to following NeighborMedia from my new post in Illinois, where I will be looking to CCTV's ongoing leadership and vision in the new community media landscape.
Onwards.
