The MBTA will take control of the Lechmere T stop move across McGrath O'Brien Highway. Because of this, the land exchange agreed upon in the special permit is no longer of value. Councilor Toomey announced he wanted to change the special permit for the Northpoint development. I have not heard anything since.
I have sat at my computer and searched the news and blogs for anything new. I do see the construction continues to complete the Tango building. Does anyone have an update on this project?
Yes, the property is currently in a 45 day due dilligence period for a buyer of the development. They, not the MBTA will be building the new lechmere stop. The project is going to move forward. I live in Tango, and I love it. Toomey can shove his courthouse up his you know what. It's not coming to Northpoint, promise.
The word on the street is that the developer making an offer is Forest City. The folks who brought us University Park.
I heard that too some time ago, but I don't think that's quite the case. They wouldn't tell us who it is.
