The Helping Hand Food Pantry presents the third annual benefit concert in the St.James’s sanctuary on Saturday, October 18. The pantry serves 350 to 400 households per month. Director, Nina Siciliano, is a part- time staff person who coordinates the efforts of many volunteers. The food pantry has no residency requirement and has served families since 1984.
Namaste Drumming, founded by Mike Morse, is a group of drum performers and teachers committed to spreading the joy of hand drumming through performance and drum education. They feature an eclectic mix of African, Latin, and Middle Eastern rhythms. It is their third year supporting the Helping Hand Food Pantry through benefit concerts. In this concert, they present Latin and Middle Eastern rhythms.
Namaste conducts benefits for non-profit organizations and has performed at the Frederick Scott Art Gallery, DeCordova Museum, the Hudson Holiday Stroll, the Marlborough Family Series, and the Framingham World AIDS Day.
Colleen Henry is a professional pianist and teacher and vocal coach. The friends performing with her are musicians and vocalists with a wide range of styles.
St. James’s Mens’ Choir performs in the area and exhibits an engaging a capella style.
Refreshments and a raffle will follow. Call Nina at 617-876-4381 for further information.
