Q. Is there anything I can do to make myself more proficient in video editing?

A. Set aside time whenever you can to checkout what your tools do, check your editing skills, or just opening a project you may make a mistake in your project, no problem, just select what you do not want and undo it, you can not hurt your project, but always remember to click undo under the edit tab selected item after trying out tools or anything tried out in project
