5K Superhero Post-Halloween Road Race
The first three runners across the Pacific Street finish line in the 5K Superhero costume road race in downtown Cambridge November 1 were (r) Mark Gomes #1728 of Boston, time 18:02; (c) Michael Schwandt #303 of Boston, time 18:18; and (l) Paul Schrimpf #156 of Cambridge, time 18:34.
Have2Run of Boston sponsored the event. The 357 runners and walkers included Supermen, Wonder Women, Batfolk, a Ninja Turtle crew, and other specially empowered muscle people, plus a Cinderella, brides, ghouls, vampires and other glamorous and/or villanous beings. Some participants even appeared as themselves. Many observers also came in trick-or-treat array.

Thanks, Emma, Congratulations on putting together a great event. Sorry I was too busy watching to get many photos; the one with the Green Man was one of just two. The other is also in a cctv post, http://www.cctvcambridge.org/node/30325. It shows two women in leis dancing after the race; the woman on the left, Joy Richard, was a participant (#283) I think the person on the right, Kate Palmer, is the spouse of a participant.
