Cambridge Community Television is the public access television, cable radio, and computer multimedia center serving the extraordinary city of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Already voted best in the nation six times, CCTV has high ambitions and we’re seeking a talented staffer to join our team.
Are you kind of geeky but really like working with people, in cyberspace and in real life?
We are seeking an energetic, ambitious, creative and mature individual to start two new projects in the next year. The first is to transform CCTV’s computer lab into a community newsroom that will foster citizen journalists from all segments of our community. We envision a buzzing hub of activity that includes blogging, podcasting, and all kinds of media-making for CCTV’s community cable channels and web site – with the Community Media Coordinator managing the transformation. The second will be to take the lead in a pilot project to provide computers and training to low income households in Cambridge. In addition, responsibilities include: assisting with coverage of community events, expanding participation and viewership in CCTV’s on-line community and moderating and preparing content on CCTV’s web site.
If you thrive on the challenge of designing and managing projects from the big picture down to the smallest details, love organizing people and systems, and are dedicated to working in a diverse, ever-changing environment committed to providing access to technology and the media for everyone, we hope that you will apply.
The position requires excellent program development, organizational, computer, and people skills. Prior experience in community media or community technology helpful, as is knowledge of Cambridge. Salary range is $33,000-$38,000, commensurate with experience, and good benefits. Bilingual applicants strongly encouraged to apply. CCTV is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Position begins as soon as possible.
