MAC Meeting Minutes, 6/2/08

The meeting commenced at 5:50pm with the following members in attendance:
Ann, Laura, Rhonda, Lloyd, Elizabeth, Amy, Lynette, joined later by EW. (Ned called to excuse his absence)

Time Keeper: Ann

Review of last meeting
-Clodagh reviewed the highlights of the minutes of the previous meeting.
-Most members expressed having difficulty in accessing the Blog on CCTV site www.cctvcambridge.org/mac .
Clodagh promised to have Colin______? walk us through the procedure at the next meeting. She explained that the Blog site is ideal for sharing ideas. Everyone was invited to email her or call her voice mail with ideas.

Board Report
Amy (MAC representative ) gave report of her attendance at the last CCTV Board Meeting,(May 8,'08) as follows:

MAC Responsibilities

The MAC is responsible for promoting CCTV within the membership and encouraging the organization’s commitment to being a community. To accomplish these goals, the MAC:

-Organizes member activities to promote networking and technological confidence;
-Seeks to understand member frustrations and investigates ways to alleviate them;
-Creates a community at CCTV where people participate, learn and share their skills with others;
-Communicates current issues at CCTV to other members;
-Helps shape the direction of CCTV, and ensures that the voices of other members help shape CCTV;
-Acts as a sounding board for proposed CCTV policy changes presented by members, staff or the Board of Directors;
-Works to improve community perceptions of CCTV;
-Improves communication between the station and all segments of the Cambridge population, specially those often underserved;
-Educates the community about the power of media and the importance of having a voice.

MAC Meeting Minutes, 5/19/08

Welcome and call to order
Meeting convened at 6:09 pm,chaired by Clodagh Rule. The Agenda was distributed along with MAC Mission Statement and the list of MAC Committees.

Introductions/ roll call (time keeper, note taker)
All MAC Members present. Time Keeper was Elizabeth Kanze and Note taker was Lynette Laveau Saxe.

Icebreaker
The group engaged in an Icebreaker Exercise, wherein everyone was encouraged to identify a person or persons who had the experience of performing several duties, interests and capabilities outlined on the sheets distributed. Rhonda Mc Phearson was recognized as the person who completed the activity first.

Lloyd Smith suggested that all the sheets for this exercise be collected for purpose of compiling a resource list of skills to be distributed to all present. Everyone was in agreement and it was so done.

MAC mission statement
The MAC Mission was read by all and Clodagh explained it in detail.

Committees
Clodagh explained that the various committees would not be required to meet frequently except as needed.
