I'm Benny from the Central Square VFW (Hoyt post 299). We are holding an upcoming Reggae, Ska, & Soul Oldie Party / fund-raising event at the post that is open to the public.

In the past, door proceeds from "The Happening" normally go to the VFW's community programs (such as child safety programs and senior meals). All admission collected from this month's event will go to a hurricane relief fund (proposed recipient charity: Network For Good). Additional donations (as well as bottled water, diapers, baby formula, and canned food) will also be accepted.

In addition to reggae audiences, this show may also be of interest to listeners of other genres; to include R&B, soul oldies, world music, and even indie-rock (since quite a few young scensters attended last time).

Date: Saturday, September 10th (2005)

Event: "The Happening" in conjunction with "Pasa-Pasa" (an 18+ event)

Description: Top DJ's juggling vintage reggae, rock-steady, Jamaican ska, & soul oldies

Time: Beginning 8:00 pm

Admission: Free before 9:00 / $3.00 suggested donation after 9:00 pm.
Addidional donations will also be accepted
(as well as bottled water, diapers, baby formula, and canned food).
