Mount Auburn Cemetery Stroll and Poetry

As part of Cambridge Discovery Days 2011, I took the opportunity to walk around Mt. Auburn Cemetery with a fresh eye. I used the map and guide available in the Visitor's Center just inside the gates. Although I have spent many a pleasant hour there, I learned new things by reading the guide, following the map, and looking more closely.

In addition to being a beautifully landscaped area, Mount Auburn also has graves and monuments of many famous people and important happenings in local, U.S., and international history.

So grab a map and a brochure and take a lovely and informative stroll someday soon! Although Cambridge Discovery Days are over for 2011, you can still visit and learn about many interesting people and happenings in Cambridge history any day.

It really does sound as if you got a whole new impression of the place. I think that looking at things with fresh eyes, even though sometimes hard to do, can really provide proper perspectives.
