Welcome!
We have a lot going on in the lab. First we would like to acknowledge those who make it all possible. We could not do what we do without the generous support from our interns. Each week computerCENTRAL interns volunteer their time providing computer assistance for our community. Get ready for CCTV's upcoming Newsletter, featuring some intern biographies. Find out why they enjoy working with our members.
Congratulations also go out to Marie Caso who won two awards from the Alliance for Community Media's Hometown Video Festival. We interviewed her for a videoblog post which is available below. You can also see our interview with Artist RamRam Abdellah.
Stay tuned for updates here on our blog.

GIMP, which stands for "GNU Image Manipulation Program" is now available on all Windows platform computers in computerCENTRAL.
GIMP can be used for "photo retouching, image composition and image authoring," as the website explains. In addition, GIMP is built on the philosophy of Free Software, which the GNU project describes in the following:
When RamRam Abdellah isn't at CCTV working in computerCENTRAL, you can usually find him in local cafe's creating art with pen and ink. He's currently exhibiting his art work in CCTV's Drive By Gallery. CCTV's Community Technology Programs Manager, David Zermeno and intern Angel Alguier took time out to interview him for computerCentral's videoblog.
Congratulations go out to CCTV's "Computer for Seniors" participant Marie Caso. The Alliance for Community Media's Hometown Video Festival just awarded Marie for two videos she produced at CCTV. If you can believe it, she's already making another video. Her new video is about meeting Eleanor Roosevelt. Many years ago Marie was working as a typist in Greenwich Village. She met a woman in black boots who would come out of the board meetings and ask Marie to join her in the ladies room to dictate letters. As it turned out, the woman was Eleanor Roosevelt. She was getting work done in the ladies room so the men in the boardroom wouldn’t interrupt her. We interviewed Marie about her latest story that she's working on at CCTV.
