SCAM ARTIST HOLOMAN-FRANKLIN’S JUNE, 2009 RETURN TO SALEM STREET

In 2008, after scamming Essex Street property owner Clifford Truesdell out of thousands of dollars, Raphael Holoman-Franklin rented a house on Salem Street in Cambridge, owned by Tom Queisser, who was living in Europe at the time. Holoman-Franklin (as with Truesdell) sublet the place without the owner's knowledge and pocketed the money. Multi-state scam artist Raphael Holoman-Franklin is back in Cambridge. Despite having stolen thousands of dollars from city residents last year, Holoman-Franklin has returned,and has been staying with an unsuspecting family on Essex Street, taking advantage of their trust and goodwill. They only recently learned about his criminal history. He had befriended a son of this family, who convinced his parents to let Holoman-Franklin stay with them. The father became suspicious of Holoman-Franklin after he told the family that he had attended a certain college at Yale - a non-existent college. The father WENT to Yale - Holoman-Franklin did not.

Raphael Holoman-Franklin fabricates details of his past, claims to be English (he was born in the U.S.) and uses religious and political involvement as a cover for his rent scamming and theft activities. Please see our victim's blog at:

Scam artist Raphael Holoman-Franklin, who stole from Cambridge residents in 2008, is wanted by the Seattle, WA police for a theft committed prior to coming to Cambridge. The following is an email from that police department (with contact information) regarding this. We believe that Holoman-Franklin is still in the area, and wish to warn people about him, as he shows no remorse, denies everything, refuses to make restitution to his victims, and continues to tell people that he's the "victim" of a malicious "plot". Scam artist Raphael Holoman-Franklin, who bilked several Cambridge residents out of thousands of dollars in 2008 via rent scams, is back in Cambridge. A victim's blog that was set up on the www.mybarackobama.com website (to mirror his own Obama blog there) has been taken down, no doubt at his request. A new blog for his scamming and theft victims has been put up again at:

Holoman-Franklin also feverishly flags Craigs List ads (which warn others about him) for removal. We have learned to include his name and our contact information at the beginning of the ad listing. These will stay on the internet after the ad expires or gets removed.

Please note also that one area victim, Clifford Truesdell, contacted and warned Holoman-Franklin's former employer, Trinity Church, in Boston. He received the following reply:

Raphael Holoman-Franklin is a rent scam artist who has stolen thousands of dollars from victims in several states over the past few years, including residents of Cambridge MA in 2008. He uses social, political and religious concerns to deflect from his illegal activities. After leaving Cambridge, Holoman-Franklin fled to Illinois, where he stayed at a Roman Catholic monastery, "wanting to become a monk". The head of the monastery asked him to leave after victims contacted him, providing him with proof of Holoman-Franklin's crimes. Holoman-Franklin is now believed to be back in Cambridge. Do not trust this individual. He fabricates details about his family, education, and past; he steals, lies and has no remorse.
