It's that time of year. No, not the holidays...Flu Shot season!
Click the image on the left to see a short (2:55) video about the Cambridge Flu Clinic and hear Louise Rice, Senior Director of Public Health Nursing for Cambridge, on this year's flu season and why YOU should get a flu shot!
"Flu season in New England doesn't peak until late January and continues all the way into April," says Nurse Rice.
If you got a flu shot last year, that doesn't cover you for this flu season. The nasty viruses mutate, so vaccines have to be updated annually. Experts meet in February to determine the most likely strains of flu virus for the year, and vaccines are developed accordingly.
"This vaccine has three different flu strains," says Louise. "They usually get it right."
