Calling all Artists - Cambridge Open Studios 2012 Registration Now Open

Registration for Cambridge Open Studios (COS) 2012 is now open, and CCTV will again be hosting the Performance Artist Showcase on one of the days during the COS East & Central weekend May 12 and 13 (day TBD). Performances will be broadcast live and recorded for future broadcast on Cambridge public access channels. Each participating artist will get a 15-20 minute "showcase" in which to perform their works. Group performances will be allocated 35-45 minute sets.

Each Spring during Cambridge Open Studios, artists throughout the city open their doors to the public to share their paintings, jewelry, fiber arts, ceramics, film, live performance, mixed-media, literary works, and more! The Performance Artist Showcase opportunity is in addition to the opportunity for artists to participate in COS by arranging their own performances/readings and/or opening their studio spaces to the public during regular COS hours.

Studio Locations and Dates - 12pm to 6pm each day

  • COS East & Central - May 12 & 13, 2012
includes Lechmere, Inman Square, Kendall Square, Central Square, Mid Cambridge, Area IV and Cambridgeport
  • COS North/West - May 19 & 20, 2012

General Participation Information:
Artists, performers, artisans, and writers of all media living and/or working in Cambridge or collaborating with a participating organization are eligible to participate!

Venue Types:
Artists are welcome to show in their own space (e.g. a studio or home) or in a group venue. The CAC will be arranging for at least one group or 'common' venue/exhibition space in each of the three COS areas to host artists that might not otherwise have a place to show their works. If you are interested in being included in a common venue please make sure to note this on your registration form. If you would like to collaborate independently with other artists to have a group venue please feel free to do this as well.

Registration deadline: January 31, 2012 (applications submitted before 12/31/2011 will receive a discount)
