Peter Pizzi details the process he went through to make his video and explains how, with little or not experience or money, you can do the same! Learn about many resources that can provide you skills and confidence for your own endeavors.

This seminar is designed to acquaint CCTV producers to our newest camcorders, the Panasonic DVX100b. Come learn safety procedures for these new 24p capable camcorders, and learn some of the new features of this exciting new addition to our field gear. This seminar will certify Access Members to check-out Panasonic DVX100b camcorders.

Session #1 is an introduction to audio concepts, equipment (mics, cables, sound mixers), and basic micing techniques. Session #2 will contain an interactive demonstration of the role of lighting in TV production, and basic lighting concepts & techniques.

This is an advanced worship in digital videography. Learn how to use advanced camera functions and lighting setups to achieve a professional look for you video productions. The last two sessions of this class will be spent on student-directed exercises that will put new camera and lighting techniques into action.

Students will learn how to plan and organize a video project. Learn about assembling a crew and schedule for shooting, and how to use CCTV resources to make it all happen. In the second session, you will learn what to do once you’ve finished shooting your project. How do you find your audience, and how do you deliver your project to them? Join this class to find out!!

Hands-on training in DV video editing using a Macintosh computer and one of the easiest video editing programs around! A great choice for beginning video editors!

Edit I introduces students to the theory and tools of video editing. Session 1 introduces students to the history and principles of film/video editing by viewing and discussing excerpts ranging from feature films to commercials. See how editors compose, manipulate, arrange, and layer images and sounds for powerful effect. Sessions 2 and 3 are spent exploring Apple’s professional grade video editing software, Finl Cut Pro. Students will learn about the digital editing process, from capturing footage to printing the final product back to tape, and all the steps in between. This class will certify Access Members to use CCTV edit suites.

This course aims to expand what you know about Final Cut and make you feel more comfortable using it. Learn more about trimming edits and transitions, creating titles and effects, batch digitizing, working with offline clips, importing and exporting, filetypes, key commands, shortcuts, and more.

Sound quality and a thoughtful mix of dialogue, music, and effects are crucial to the overall impression made by any video production. The first part of this course will explore tools in Final Cut Pro that can be used to fix common audio problems. The second part will provide an introduction to the creative use of music and sound effects through example clips. Students will be shown how to create their own score with Apple's Soundtrack Pro, and will also be given additional sources for copyright-safe audio. Each part includes and in-class project.

Eric Weltman is a veteran organizer, writer, and educator. Sarah Bennett is a seasoned web developer for nonprofits, unions, and campaigns.

This class is ideal for people who are staring their first website and working establish their first presence on the Internet. This is a one-session primer on the fastest, easiest and free-est methods of making our fist website with third-party services like Blogger, BlogSpot, Live Journal, Flickr, YouTube and Blip.tv. We will also discuss DIY options for hosting your own website and services.

In three 3-hour sessions you will learn basic HTML coding and explore the popular Dreamweaver web design program. While mastery of Dreamweaver requires no prior experience with building web pages, the ability to manage files on a computer is an essential prerequisite.

Interactive tutorials introduce students to Photoshop work areas, tools, palettes and functions. In session 2, instructor will help students experiment with creation and modification of images. This course gives those with no prior Photoshop experience a basic foundation for continued exploration on their own.

Wanna start your own blog? Wanna find out what a blog is? This class will introduce students to the world of blogging. You will learn about blog hosting sites and tips for desgning the layout of your blog and blog entries. By the end of this class you will be ready to start publishing on the web!

Are you comfortable using Macs? You will need to be if you want to use CCTV's computer lab or edit suites! This course equips you with the skills and confidence to work more effectively on Macs at CCTV or at home. Even if you are a confirmed PC/Windows user, we'll help you get oriented quickly to the Mac interface. Already a CCTV lab user? You'll discover new features and shortcuts to help you work smarter.
