The Members Advisory Committee

The Members Advisory Committee (MAC) was created to ensure that CCTV members play an active role in shaping the direction of CCTV.

The MAC is responsible for representing the interests of members on the committees of the Board of Directors, promoting the involvement of CCTV members, encouraging members to produce their own media and organizing activities to facilitate networking.

At the start of 2006, MAC members included:

Angel Aiguier, Ann Cowan, Emmanuel Gardiner, Lauren Kroiz, Ann Medeiros, Shams Mizra, Corey O’ Hara, Buz Owen, Wayne Robinson and Cody Romano.

The MAC jumped into 2006 with an idea ­to organize a networking party for members. After careful planning, the March 4 party was a huge success, featuring a wide assortment of delicious refreshments and even Karaoke! Members also had a chance to promote their work through interviews on CCTV’s BeLive, shown live on Channel 9.

In April, a new MAC was elected by the CCTV membership at the Annual Meeting. New members Greg Martin, Ricardo Melo, Laura Montgomery, Chrisann Newransky, Cody Romano, Todd Simmons, and Maggie Vandermeer joined veterans Angel Aiguier and Buz Owen. Todd left the area and Ann Cowan was appointed to finish his term.

The new group articulated an ambitious goal—to plan a film festival. The MAC quickly decided that the theme of the festival would be promoting the First Amendment ideals of free speech and free expression. The group set the festival date for January of 2007 and ended 2006 planning all aspects of the event.
