Equipment and Facilities

Cablecast
In 2006, CCTV shifted toward more playback in digital formats; new DVD players/changers were installed in cablecast, and to complement the Mpeg2 encoder, three 250GB hard drives were purchased from Synergy Broadcast Systems to accommodate digital media storage and playback.

Amount spent for Mpeg2 encoder and hard drives in cablecast: $9,740

Studio and Edit Suites
This move toward digital was also reflected in the type of playback and recording equipment acquired in 2006 for production and post-production. New DVD players were installed in the BeLive studio, and in Master Control. DVD Players and Sony DRS-11 DV Cam/DV decks were installed in each of the three edit suites.

Amount spent for DVD players/changers and mini DV decks: $7,245

BeLive Studio
CCTV also invested a great deal of money in improving the video quality of our live programming. A new JVC KY-F560U 1/2-Inch 3 CCD High-Resolution Industrial Camera with a Canon YH16X7K12U Lens was installed in our BeLive studio.

Amount spent for a new BeLive studio camera/accessories: $4,937

Equipment Repairs
Things break. Things get repaired. Such is the life of heavily used equipment at a public access television station.

Total cost of repairs in 2006: $13,144
